IN MEMORIAM ~ SANDRA SHIRLOW

Members of the Council
It is with sadness that we communicate the passing on of a Pagan friend and High Priestess, Sandra Shirlow, who crossed over earlier today after a long battle against cancer.
Rev. Ginney May was at her bedside and wrote:
“I so much wish peace for her and a wonderful journey to balance out the suffering she has endured. I do believe the Goddess was with her. The only audible word I could make out from her was "Mother". She was not looking at me at the time but past me.”
During my last conversation with Sandra she joked about wanting to be remembered once she’d gone, and I said she’d be remembered for how brave she was and that she was an inspiration to us all. I wrote to her: “Your voice will be heard through that of your children, your song will be heard in the love they harbour in their hearts for you and in the stories they will tell their children about you; your writings will speak long after you've crossed over and ring out for eternity in the hearts of those they touch. You will be remembered”.

We salute and honour you Immortal Sister. Goddess speed!
Soon!
With love and admiration

DOUBLE CONGRATULATIONS

The SAPC and Reno Firehawk would like to wish Lynette Magee Ferreira and her husband Johan all of the best with the coming birth of their baby boy. May the Gods bless you with serenity, joyous patience and the levels of energy needed to welcome your little bundle of joy.

The SAPC would also like to wish Artemisia Divina a beautiful and easy home delivery. May you and your husband Michael remember that just as you are being blessed with your little son’s birth, your baby boy is also blessed to get such wonderful people as parents.

Prosperity, Love and Goddess Blessings to these parents and their babies!

A Blessed Yuletide To You and Your Kin

The SAPC wishes its members and loved ones a Blessed Yule!
“The food is put away for the winter,
the crops are set aside to feed us,
the cattle are come down from their fields,
and the sheep are in from the pasture.
The land is cold, the sea is stormy, the sky is gray.
The nights are dark, but we have our family,
kin and clan around the hearth,
staying warm in the midst of darkness,
our spirit and love a flame
a beacon burning brightly
in the night.”
May this Solstice and turning of the Wheel bring you Love, Peace and all things Good. May we welcome the returning Sun with Hope and Joy.

May you never thirst!

Blessings
Morgause and Aurelius

A Blessed Samhain to All

This is one of the most magickal times of the year and the SAPC wish you and your kin a good ending and a blessed beginning to the New Year. We trust that the Hunt and Harvest have been bountiful ones and that your joy and the fruits of your labour will keep your tribe and clan warm and satiated until the Spring.

Blessed Be

PAGAN FREEDOM DAY

The South African Pagan Council thanks all the organizers of PFD and exhorts all its members to attend this event at their nearest venue.
We also take this opportunity to wish you all a fantastic day in commemoration of the first democratic elections held in South Africa, back in 1994, and the freedom and liberty which are now ours to enjoy.
“In January 2004, this initiative was formerly chartered as the Pagan Freedom Day Movement (PFDM).

Since its inception, Pagans across the country have willingly embraced the ideal of Pagan Freedom Day, namely to encourage Cooperative Community building amongst Pagans and between Pagans and non-Pagans. It is hoped that by fostering a positive and holistic South African Pagan identity, we can promote understanding and tolerance amongst Pagans and between Pagans and non-Pagan South Africans.” Damon Leff.
