As an "Old Toppie" I have a little experience in this field - and I must say that I am more than just a little nervous about the idea of 'finding' a coven/group for whatever reason through any form of mass-media...

I've seen some really good covens self-destruct through accepting a 'bad' Pagan who causes strife and dissension within the coven, and I've seen some really good Pagans self-destruct through joining a 'bad' coven...

My suggestion is that you form your own coven through finding a (very) few Pagans that you like and get on with, and see where that takes you. Bigger isn't always better.

People that is isolated has no real means to find like minded people if not in a forum like this.

By suggesting covens/people, it does not say that they the bee's knees or the right people for that person. It just makes it easier for them to connect and so get to know more like minded people.

It's not like we putting adverts in the Beeld or The Star... This is a more protected media...I should think... Maybe PAN is a good place to refer people too.

thank you for suggesting PAN, what M'Lord Charles may be reffering to is someone posting all their personal details on such a forum. i can ashure you that will not be the case on PAN, we respect their privacy and will only submit an email address to be contactable on. a gereral discription of the coven/group will be posted.

You are quite right, starting a Coven/Grove of their own is generally the best way to go. Although a listing on a mass media forum can assist those who have moved into a new area and are looking to find like minded people to socialize with till they find the correct like minded souls to start coven with or a Coven or Grove that they are comfortable with and who are comfortable with them. No need to jump into the first Coven/Grove they come across.
