THE TWO WINGS OF BALANCE

THE TWO WINGS OF BALANCE

Different people have different attitudes to events in life. Our attitudes are habits based on those of our parents, of our friends, society, our own individual impressions and in turn that part of these which is based on personal experiences. We assimilate all of this information and formulate our vision of the world and of ourselves, maintaining these ideas through our internal dialogue and thoughts.
You might believe that your attitude matters only to you and at that “only for now”. But think about it. Your attitude is important to all, for thoughts generate more thoughts which act upon you and your immediate environment. Thoughts intensify themselves and call up repetitions of themselves and these can then stand in your way to progress spiritually.
We are not victims of circumstances. We are actually in control of how we react to events in life. We have the choice to either be positive or negative, joyous or depressive.
How? We have to make a positive commitment to ourselves, our families, our friends, fellow Pagans, Mother Nature, as well as every worthwhile cause. We have to dare to dream big and practice enthusiasm. We must cease to be afraid of change (change is an opportunity; it is the hand of the Fates at work). We should strive to improve everyday and to remain optimistic no matter the odds.
Be mindful. Keep your focus on positive goals, visualize, develop a strategy, prioritize, learn to relax and be honest with yourself.
By changing our internal dialogue, our life will make a turn about, and we will find ourselves enjoying more energy, more drive.
Be active in doing good. He that is on the Path does not exist for himself but for others. He has forsaken himself. A sage once said that our only source of security is our goodness.
A bird flies on two wings. Like that bird we have to rely on the spiritual and the material existence. We have to strike a balance between these two spheres so that we, like birds, can soar comfortably, in balance. We need to give attention to both.
We must strive for perfection because that is a Law of Universe, and this law has to be utilized correctly if we are to evolve further. We have to add to our imperfect nature compassion, righteousness, wisdom, ethics and morality.

Human beings always remind

Human beings always remind me of toddlers who are just learning to walk... we try so hard to hit that balance, but we sway and tip and stumble so much before we actually hit the centre -

Nice column Morgause... so much to share in that piece -
