As a student to his master said:
The fear in me is running dry
The night you named me and I bled
It is for joy that I now cry…
A master offers no reward
For gaining knowledge on one’s path
A master instead holds your sword
Until you come to him and laugh…
Deep within the understanding
That you are what you have chosen
Look closely at what they are handing
And your own face they will have woven…
The test of Fire is a test of strength
The master knows the student
“Rise above and run the length
Always to be prudent….”
Words are many, people are few
But to look at each other, we all knew
It would come to this, standing side by side
A student’s pledge remains true as the Tide
