The SAPC defines Paganism as follows:

"Paganism / Neo-Paganism is 'the restoration of indigenous European religions'.

In many cases Pagans identify an ethnic group with a nation and thus, for some of them, Paganism means nationalism or more precisely, ethnic nationalism.

“Paganism is a non-dogmatic affirmation of all non-coercive religious and spiritual paths and folkways which revere the sacredness of earth and of all life, the immanence of divinity, recognise the duality in all things and promote individualism and human rights.”
Phos Erebos

“Paganism is a term derived from the Latin word “pagus” and “pagani”, names given to country dwellers who had remained heathen even after the cities had converted to Christianity. Pagan spirituality is animistic, polytheistic, pantheistic and shamanistic, amongst many. It is religion of the "folk" based on ancient mythology, existing independently and outside the monotheistic religions of the Book like Judaism, Islam and Christianity.”
